In Q1 2022, the Middle East saw substantial activity in the real-time strategy genre on iOS, with several apps showing notable performance patterns. Here’s a closer look at the top 5 apps in this category, based on Sensor Tower data.

Clash Royale from Supercell maintained a strong presence throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue fluctuated, peaking at around $122.6K in the first week of January and experiencing another high of approximately $100.9K in the last week of March. Weekly downloads remained relatively steady, with a slight dip in mid-January and ending the quarter with about 11.4K downloads. The app also sustained a high number of weekly active users, starting at roughly 451K and closing the quarter at approximately 413K.

Army Commander by Lion Studios showed a significant increase in weekly downloads after its release at the end of February, achieving a peak of about 42.1K in the first week of March. Revenue also saw growth, reaching around $865 in mid-March. Active users peaked at approximately 49.7K in the second week of March but declined to about 19.1K by the end of the quarter.

State Connect: Traffic Control from AI Games FZ saw its highest weekly downloads in late January with about 12.8K. Revenue peaked in early February at approximately $463. However, the app experienced a decline in both downloads and active users towards the end of the quarter, with active users dropping from a high of around 14.9K in early February to about 4.1K by the end of March.

Monster Wars 3D by HOMA GAMES had a varied performance in terms of downloads, peaking at around 2.9K in mid-January. Active users showed a similar trend, reaching a high of approximately 9.4K in late February but dropping to about 7K by the end of March. Revenue remained minimal throughout the quarter.

Valor Legends: Remove Screw by Century Games Pte. Ltd. displayed a consistent increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $36.1K in the first week of February. Downloads saw a peak of about 2.7K in mid-January, while active users reached their highest at around 4.5K in late February before slightly declining to about 4.1K by the end of March.
